Health and safety is one of the few areas where the law places specific duties specifically on employees so a knowledge of where this applies and how to ensure that it is adhered to is vital to protect individuals and businesses.

The course covers a wide range of topics including fire safety, asbestos awareness, working at height, COSHH, PPE and electricity. It also covers schemes for improving safety performance and methods of protecting the environment.

Who Should Take This Course?

​This course is a great induction course in relation to health and safety as it covers a wide range of topics in some detail. Most of the examples relate to the construction industry so this course is perfect for people starting out working on a site for the first time.

Health and safety is one of the few areas where the law places specific duties specifically on employees so a knowledge of where this applies and how to ensure that it is adhered to is vital to protect individuals and businesses.

Most workers feel that accidents are something that only happens to other people.

The reality is that too many workers are coming to harm by not observing Health and Safety laws and not working to safe systems of work - the physical, mental and financial burden of these accidents can have a huge impact on themselves, their families and their colleagues.

The course covers a wide range of topics including fire safety, asbestos awareness, working at height, COSHH, PPE and electricity. It also covers methods for improving safety performance and methods of protecting the environment.

​On successful completion of the course you will be able to download a quality assured certificate​. This can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.

This course is also approved by RoSPA, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, as providing quality and content-approved training.

This certificate does not have an expiry date. However, based on industry best practice guidelines, the recommended renewal period for this training is 1 year. We will print this recommended renewal date on your certificate.

Aims of the Course

By the end of the ​ Working Safely training course, ​you will:

  • have a clearer understanding of identifying and dealing with occupational risks and hazards, able to outwardly improve safety in the workplace
  • understand how they can make a difference to their own well-being, as well as the well-being of their team, through everyday behaviours
  • be more aware of the legislated responsibilities of companies
  • have a greater understanding of how to reduce environmental impact

Assessment

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked a set of​ multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 70%. ​You will have up to six attempts for passing the assessment.
