This is followed up with some statistics outlining the most common causes of accidents in the workplace.They will also understand good practice in relation to electricity, display screen equipment and the use of safe manual handling techniques.
The course also introduces best practice associated with the control of substances hazardous to health regulations, the importance of using appropriate PPE as instructed and the most common procedures to follow in the event of a fire.
The course contains specific case studies that outline the seriousness of health and safety in the workplace and potential consequences if there is a health and safety breach. Along with all this it introduces the concept of risk assessment and concludes with the actions that should be taken in the event of an emergency situation occurring.
On successful completion of the course you will be able to download a quality assured certificate. This can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit.

Aims of the Course
By the end of this course learners will:
- Have knowledge of basic health and safety procedures.
- Understand the responsibilities of employers and employees under health and safety legislation.
- Understand the importance of undertaking a risk assessment to prevent and control hazards.
- Know how to follow the correct safety procedures in the workplace.
- Understand the hazards and ill-health effects associated with specific work activities and processes.
The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked a set of multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 70%. You will have up to six attempts for passing the assessment.
